ALGIERS,– Algeria has been elected a member of the Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Co-operation (COMSTECH) of the Organization of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) at the committee’s 30th session being held in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Algeria was represented at the meeting by Minister of Vocational Training and Education Mohamed Mebarki, the committee said in a statement Wednesday.

The committee will have to “work out scientific and technological development programmes for the next decade from 2016 to 2025, monitor and assess progress in the scientific and technological fields and make sure of the availability of the required specialized basic infrastructures”.
