ALGIERS, — Algeria and Gabon have highlighted the importance of strengthening and promoting bilateral relations in various fields, particularly the sectors of trade and tourism.

In a media statement issued after a meeting with the the visiting Gabonese Minister of Trade, SMEs, Crafts, Tourism and Service Development, Madeleine Berre, here Sunday, Algerian Minister of National Planning, Tourism and Craft Industry Amar Ghoul called for strengthening of economic and trade co-operation between African countries and with other countries of the South.

Ghoul said the visit of the Gabonese minister to Algeria on the occasion of the Algiers International Fair was “an opportunity to boost relations of co-operation between the two countries in various fields, particularly in terms of trade exchange.

In this regard, he underlined “Algeria’s concern to strengthen trade and economic exchanges between African countries, including Gabon, through the expansion of air transport links in the region”.

He recalled the existence of several co-operation segments, particularly in the fields of national planning and tourism to highlight the Algerian experience in this sector.

Ghoul invited the Gabonese minister to attend the international seminar on tourism, to be held in October, in Oran.

Berre said the meeting was an opportunity to strengthen and intensify bilateral co-operation in various developments fields.
