ALGERIA MINISTER MESSAHEL TO ATTEND SECURITY MEETING IN GROZNY MONDAY

ALGIERS, -- Algerian Minister of Maghreb, African Union (AU) and Arab League Affairs Abdelkader Messahel will lead the Algerian delegation to the 7th international meeting of senior security officials to be held from Monday to Wednesday in Grozny, capital of Russia's Chechen Republic.

A statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry here Saturday said the meeting is organized annually by Russia to discuss main international security issues.

This year, the agenda will focus on issues of the fight against violent extremism and terrorism, migration and mechanisms of protection and promotion of international peace, the statement said, adding that several countries will take part in this meeting at ministerial level.

Messahel, who will attend the meeting at the invitation of Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of Russia's Security Council, will make a presentation on the Algerian experience in deradicalisation and the fight against terrorism.
