ALGERIA TO HOST INTERNATIONAL RENEWEALBLE ENERGY SHOW IN ORAN FROM OCT 24
ALGIERS, — Algeria will host the 7th International Exhibition on Renewable Energy, Clean Energies and Sustainable Development from Oct 24 to 26 in Oran, some 430 kilometres west of here, the organizers say.
The event will see very active participation of Algeria’s energy sector, mainly through two country’s major eeergy companies, Sonatrach and Sonelgaz, along with their subsidiaries, the organizers added in a statement here Sunday.
The water resources and environment sector, with its agencies and firms, the Ministry of Industry and Mines, which is directly concerned with this year’s theme: “Renewable Energies Industry in the Service of a Diversified and Competitive Economy”, will also take part in the show.
Agriculture, higher education and scientific research as well as the major economic players of the field will also attend the event, to be held at the Convention Centre of Oran, according to the organizers.
Meanwhile, Algeria’s Minister of Energy, Noureddine Boutarfa, is attending the 23rd World Energy Congress being held from Oct 9 to 13 in Istanbul, Turkey, the ministry said in a statement here.
An Algerian delegation, including officials from the ministry as well as the chief executives of Sonatrach and Sonelgaz — Amine Mazouzi and Mustapha Guitouni — is accompanying Boutarfa to the global event, taking place this year under the theme, “Embracing New Frontiers”.
The minister is addressing a session devoted to hydrocarbons and will take part in a ministerial roundtable on the “Trilemma of Energy”, the Ministry statement said.
The participants in the roundtable will discuss how to produce, in a secure and stable manner, low cost energy that is accessible to everybody with a low environment impact.
