ALGIERS, — Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Ramtane Lamamra has left for Manama for a working visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of his Bahraini counterpart, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Khalifa.

During the visit, the two sides will discuss bilateral issues and ways to develop co-operation between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement here Sunday.

The two ministers will also “exchange views on a number of Arab, regional and international issues of common interest and will work to increase the consultation and co-ordination between the two countries on many topical issues”, added the statement.

Algeria and Bahrain signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on political consultation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs during the visit by the Bahraini Foreign minister to Algeria in April 2013.

After Bahrain, Lamamra will head for Doha, Qatar, the third and last stage of his trip to the Gulf countries. Earlier, he was in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Nov 18 to 20 to attend the 7th Sir Bani Yas International Forum.
