ALGERIAN F.M. CALLS ON BAHRAIN’S PRIME MINISTER
ALGIERS, -- Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Ramtane Lamamra has called on the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, in Manama Monday.
Lamamra, who is on a working visit to Bahrain, conveyed to the Prime minister the brotherly greetings of Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to King Hamad bin Aissa Al-Khalifa, and his best wishes of progress and prosperity to Bahraini people, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here said in a statement Monday.
Lamamra also held discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and former Foreign Minister of Bahrain Sheikh Mohamed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa on the "deplorable" political and security situation in the Arab world as well as the recent developments on the international scene, in addition to the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
The two sides expressed the readiness of their countries to work together and co-ordinate their actions for effective solutions to the different crises in the region.
Earlier Monday, Lamamra held a working session with his Bahraini counterpart, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, during which they examined bilateral co-operation and underlined the need to boost their partnership in various areas.
In this regard, the two sides agreed to hold the next session of the Algerian-Bahraini Joint Commission in 2017. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening the legal framework for bilateral relations, by updating agreements signed between the two countries and to adapt them to new requirements, as well as by concluding other agreements in new areas with a view to giving new impetus to their co-operation.
