ALGERIA’S POLICE CHIEF IN NEW YORK FOR POLICE CHIEFS SUMMIT AT THE UN
ALGIERS,– The Director-General of the Algerian National Security (DGSN), Major-General Abdelghani Hamel, has left for New York to take part in the first summit of police chiefs beginning at the United Nations on Thursday at the invitation of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
The General Directorate of National Security said in a statement here Wednesday that Gen. Hamel and his delegation would present at the meeting the experience of the Algerian police in terms of the strengthening police co-operation mechanisms at regional, territorial and international levels.
The Algerian delegation will particularly include in its presentation the African mechanism for police co-operation, AFRIPOL, which is considered as an effective operational model for law enforcement bodies’ security efforts.
