CHINA SEEKS TO STRENGTHEN CO-OPERATION WTIH ALGERIA
ALGIERS, -- A special representative of the Chinese Foreign Minister who is on a visit to Algeria says he is he to share views with Algerian officials on the strengthening of bilateral co-operation in the political, economic and security sphere.
"My visit to Algeria is part of the exchange of views between the two sides on the means to boost bilateral co-operation in various fields, notably the fight against terrorism," the Chinese official, Wu Sike, told journalists here Monday after meeting Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Ramtane Lamamra.
Wu said the world was facing multiple challenges, including the fight against terrorism, and he stressed the importance of strengthening co-operation in tackling this scourge.
Wu underlined the co-operation between Algeria and China for political settlement of various regional and international questions.
The Chinese official welcomed the privileged historical relations between the two countries, recalling the bilateral contacts and the exchanges of visits between the two sides at all levels.
