ALGIERS, — Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Redrigo Malmierca Diaz, will arrive here Sunday for a three-day working visit to Algeria, says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here.

The Cuban minister, who will be accompanied by a large delegation, will co-chair with Algerian Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Abdelmalek Boudiaf the 20th session of the Algerian-Cuban Joint Commission on economic, scientific, technical and cultural co-operation.

A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry Thursday said the meeting of the joint commission would enable the delegations of the two countries to assess the implementation of the recommendations and co-operation projects approved during the previous session held in Havana in December 2014, as well as prospects for the development of Algerian-Cuban co-operation in all areas.

“New agreements and co-operation programmes in different sectors will be also examined and finalized during the Cuban minister’s visit,” added the statement.

The statement said the Cuban minister would also have discussions with other top Algerian official focusing on regional and international issues of common interest.
