ALGIERS-, — Indian Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari has arrived here for a three-day official visit to Algeria.

Ansari was met on arrival at Algier’s Houari-Boumediene International Airport Monday by the Chairman of the People’s National Assembly (Parliament), Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Ramtane Lamamra and other members of the government.

Later, Vice-President Ansari paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the Algerian National Liberation War at the El-Alia Cemetery in Algiers.

The Indian vice-president, accompanied by Speaker Ould Khelifa, laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Square and read the Al Fatiha in memory of the martyrs.
