Maradona Like Never Before

MEXICO CITY, Oct. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Following the international success of Hasta que te conocí [‘Until I met you’], about the life of Juan Gabriel, and the controversial story, Su nombre era Dolores [‘Her name was Dolores’], about Jenni Rivera, content producer BTF Media, in association with Dhana Media and Latin World Entertainment, is once again pleased to announce a co-production agreement for the production of a much-awaited biographical series.

The story of the legendary soccer player, Diego Armando Maradona, is coming soon to the screen. With millions of fans in more than 30 countries worldwide, the series about the life of the idol of multitudes is based on unprecedented interviews and promises to surpass all expectations in an international production like none before it.

“My life has been a roller coaster and I want to tell it honestly; these are my experiences, and for this there couldn’t be a better co-producer than BTF. I know that they’re the only ones who can do it justice with the quality and candor that it deserves. It’s a very smooth process; we’re working closely with Francisco Cordero, Mari Urdaneta and Alejandro Aimetta from Argentina, the showrunner of BTF and this series. It’s a detailed account of my story through interviews and I’m giving them all my support and knowledge as far as my life is concerned,” said Maradona about the project, which went into pre-production in September and is scheduled to start shooting in Argentina in 2017.

The producers, for their part, are talking about the different countries and continents where they will be filming this great story. “This dramatized series represents one of the biggest challenges on television today,” notes Luis Balaguer. For the first time, we will see the charismatic world icon at a very personal level, evoking a legend drawn from a life surpassing all limits, presenting the whole truth, from the unparalleled glory of one of the greats to a man’s darkest episodes. The kid from the neighborhood who took on the hopes of the whole people, gives us a first person account of how he came to be Diego, the great number ten, until the unforgettable “hand of God” goal.
