ALGIERS, — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Isselkou Ould Ahmed Izid Bih, will begin a visit to Algeria on Tuesday, the Foreign Affairs Ministry here says.

The Mauritanian Minister will be on visit to Algeria “as a special envoy and bearer of a message from the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz to the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika”, the foreign ministry said in a statement here Saturday.

Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Ramtane Lamamra will hold discussions with his Mauritanian counterpart on bilateral relations and means to revive and develop them, in anticipation of the bilateral High Joint Commission to be held in late 2016 in Algeria, the statement added.

Both sides will also broach international political and economic issues, in addition to current Arab issues in the of preparations for the next Arab Summit to be housed by Mauritani in Nouakchott in late July.
