NIGERIA DRAWN WITH ALGERIA, CAMEROON, ZAMBIA IN QUALIFYING FOR 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP
cairo, — The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn alongside Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia in Group B for the Africa Zone third qualifying round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia.
This was the outcome of the draw held at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt, last Friday. The pairing gives the Super Eagles face an uphill task, as all the other three sides are among the continent’s top teams.
In the other pairings, Tunisia, Libya, Democratic Republic of Congo and Guinea were drawn in Group A while Group C has Gabon, Mali, Cote D ‘ Ivoire and Morocco.
Group D comprises Senegal, South Africa, Burkina Faso and Cape Verde and Group E has Ghana, Egypt, Congo and Uganda.
Only the group winners will qualify for the finals in Russia.
