ALGIERS Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has designated him the Speaker of the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament), Abdelkader Bensalah, to represent him at the High-Level Meeting of the 22nd Conference of the Parties (COP22) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) which begins on Tuesday in Marrakech, Morocco.

“At the invitation he received from the King of Morocco, His Excellency Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the president of the Republic, has designated Abdelkader Bensalah, the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, to represent him at a high-level meeting to be held on Nov 15, 2016, on the sidelines of the 22nd Conference of the Parties (COP22), Marrakech,” the Presidency says.

The Speaker of the Upper House will be accompanied by Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Ramtane Lamamra, the Presidency said in a statement here Sunday.
