POLICE KILLED BY IS-LINKED TERRORISTS IN EASTERN ALGERIA

ALGIERS, -- A policeman was killed on Saturday by three terrorists in the province of Constantine, 450 km east of capital Algiers, while investigators believe the assailants are members of the terrorist group of Islamic State.

Two assailants were identified, after pictures of runway terrorists shown to witnesses of the attack, TSA news website said, quoting a source close to the investigation.

The two detected attackers are namely Abu Hammam, chief of Ghorba squadron, a branch of IS in Algeria, and his assistant Halfaoui.

Detectives are still working on the identification of the third terrorist, the source said.

A wide-scale manhunt operation has been triggered by counter-terrorism police.
