VISITING SAUDI CHIEF OF GENERAL STAFF MEETS ALGERIAN DEPUTY DEFENCE MINISTER
ALGIERS, — Algerian Deputy Minister of National Defence Lieutenant-General Ahmed GaA�d Salah, who is also Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), on Sunday received the visiting Saudi Chief of General Staff, General Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-Bunyan, who is leading a delegation on an official visit to this country.
After the welcoming ceremony, the two sides held discussions on the state of the bilateral military co-operation and the means for its diversification with a view to broadening it to other fields of common interest,” the Ministry of National Defence said in a statement after the meeting.
The two sides exchanged views on important current issues, the statement added.
Through their bilateral co-operation, “the two parties work to reinforce the ties of brotherhood in line with both countries leaders’ political willingness and guidelines aiming at boosting bilateral relations in all fields and promoting them to the level of the common aspirations and in the interests of the two armies and peoples” it said.
The meeting was also attended by general officers at the National Defence Ministry and the General Staff of the Algerian People’s National Army as well as the members of the Saudi delegation.
