Damascus, Syria strongly condemned the arbitrary and shameful use of veto by the United States of America at the Security Council against a draft resolution submitted by Algeria to stop the aggression against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

‘The United Nations Security Council witnessed yesterday another dark chapter after the US vetoed a resolution on halting aggression on Gaza for the 4th time .’ Foreign and Expatraites Ministry said in a statement.

Baghdad, Four memorandums of understanding in many areas of bilateral cooperation between Syria and Iraq were reached at the 12th session of the joint Iraqi-Syrian committee.

During the meetings of the committee, a memorandum of understanding was signed in the field of communications between the two Ministries of Communications in Syria and Iraq, in addition to a MoU between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Syria and its Iraqi counterpart.

Furthermore, another MoU in the field of public works and housing was inked between the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in Syria and the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities in Iraq, along with reaching another in the field of industrial property protection between the Ministry of Planning (the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control) in Iraq and the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Syria.

A supplementary protocol on the scientific and technical cooperation in the fields of specifications an
d standards, quality control and granting certificates of conformity was also signed between the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in Iraq and the Standards and Metrology Organization in Syria for the years 2024-2026.

In a press conference, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Mohamad Samer al-Khalil, stressed with Iraqi Minister of Trade, Atheer al-Ghurairi, Syria’s keenness to promote bilateral cooperation to highest levels.

The two sides worked to overcome obstacles to facilitate the flow of products, especially in the field of industry, agriculture and trade, al-Khalil added, hoping to achieve further cooperation, and to utilize what has been implemented and evaluate the cooperation documents that have been signed to reach a better level in the interest of both sides.

Meeting with Iraqi News Agency, INA, al-Khalil said that there is a fundamental interest in investing in the Iraqi market, both export and import, in light of the permanent communication between businessmen be

Damascus, Syria has demanded an end to the fully-fledged war crime committed by the Turkish and US occupation forces and their mercenaries by cutting off water to a million citizens in Hasaka City and its environs for more than four months, warning that the continued act of cutting off water to the people and the threat to their lives portends a humanitarian, health and environmental disaster.

‘The bitter suffering that the people in Hasaka province are enduring continues as a result of the attacks carried out by the Turkish and US regimes and their mercenaries in northeastern Syria, by cutting off water to the people of the province for more than four months, which threatens of a humanitarian, health and environmental catastrophe,’ Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

It noted that depriving people of water and the threat to their lives is a ‘war crime’ under all international instruments, humanitarian norms and international humanitarian law as it takes place in full view of
the international community and international organizations that have turned a blind eye and ignored this crime against humanity.

The Ministry added that the Turkish aggression does not stop targeting electric power transmitters for water plants that feed the province and provide water for innocent citizens, violating the most basic human rights by cutting off water to achieve its political goals.

The statement added that despite the ongoing intensive efforts made by the Syrian state to protect its citizens and provide them with drinking water and water necessary for public hygiene, the needs there have exceeded all capabilities, as the hostile practices of the Turkish and American forces in the northern and eastern regions have exceeded all expectations.

The Foreign Ministry renewed Syria’s call on the international community to move urgently to stop this fully-fledged war crime, and to take the necessary measures to re-secure drinking water for the people of Hasaka.

The ministry warned against the catas
trophic repercussions that will result from continuing to cut off water to the province, which requires international and humanitarian bodies to assume their responsibilities and intervene immediately to stop this suffering, and hold accountable everyone who participates in depriving more than a million citizens who are victims of these heinous practices of their most basic human rights, which is to secure clean water.

Occupied Jerusalem, Dozens of Palestinians were martyred and others were injured on Wednesday at dawn in a new massacres committed by the Israeli occupation on the 138th day of its ongoing aggression on the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.

Palestinian media reported that the occupation aircraft launched a series of raids on several areas in the cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, where they bombed a house in al-Jeneina neighborhood, east of Rafah, which led to the martyrdom of eight Palestinians, mostly children.

Meanwhile, 6 Palestinians were martyred and others were injured in a shelling by occupation tanks that targeted the displaced people in al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunus, bringing the death toll in the city during the past 24 hours to 26 martyrs.

The number of martyrs in Nuseirat camp and Deir al-Balah City in central Gaza Strip also rose to 34 martyrs during the past hours, in addition to the martyrdom of dozens and the injury of others in al-Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, as a
result of the ongoing occupation air strikes on Palestinian homes.

Palestinian media reported that the majority of martyrs and wounded are still under the rubble of homes, and it is impossible for ambulance and rescue crews to reach them due to the intense bombardment by occupation aircraft and tanks.

Bogotá, Colombian President, Gustavo Petro, has affirmed that the Israeli entity is committing a genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate ceasefire there.

In a post on X platform, President Petro supported the statements issued by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva that what is taking place in Gaza is a genocide.

He added that his Brazilian counterpart told the truth which must be defended, otherwise ‘barbarism will destroy us.’

The Colombian President added that the whole region must unite for an immediate ceasefire in Palestine, and the resolution of International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding ‘Israel’ must be implemented.
