BEIJING, The 8th Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab Co-operation Forum which opens here Tuesday represents an opportunity to boost co-operation between the two sides for the benefit of mutual development and shared interests, says Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel.

The Minister, who is leading the Algerian delegation to the meeting, said the various delegations attending the Forum would be conducting an assessment of Sino-Arab co-operation and discussing ways of strengthening and promoting ties in various fields, including cultural exchanges and human communication.

Messahel said the China-Arab Co-operation Forum had been instrumental in consolidating relations between the two sides in all areas since it was launched in 2004.

“The forum has contributed as a mechanism for effective co-operation for the consolidation of relations between the two parties in all fields. It is not limited to consultations and political dialogue, but spreads to Chinese -Arab economic partnership,” Messahel said.

He stressed the political will of two sides to continue strengthening the relationship between China and the Arab World.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the Opening Ceremony of the Eighth Ministerial Meeting and deliver a speech, which should bring relations between China and the Arab States to a new level, Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong said on Friday.
