ALGERIA, MAURITANI, INAUGURE NEW BORDER CROSSING FACILITY

TINDOUF, Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning Noureddine Bedoui and his Mauritanian counterpart, Ahmadou Ould-Abdellah, have inaugurated a new border crossing facility between Algeria and Mauritania near here.

The opening of the birder crossing is in line with the common will of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and his Mauritanian counterpart, President Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz, and in implementation of the recommendations of the 18th session of the Algerian-Mauritanian High Joint Commission, which met on Dec 20, 2016 in Algiers.

The inauguration took place Sunday in the presence of diplomats and military officials from the two countries and notables from the border regions.

A total of 1.15 billion Algerian dinars 9about 9.65 million US dollars) was allocated for carrying out the building of the border post, which marks a qualitative step forward in the multifaceted co-operation between the two countries, said Bedoui.
