HE Energy and Industry Minister Participates in LNG Producer-Consumer Conference

Tokyo, September 19 (QNA) – Thanks to the wise vision of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Thani, the State of Qatar has achieved a breakthrough from a small producer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the largest producing country in the world within a few years, HE Qatar’s Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammad bin Saleh Al Sada said Wednesday.
Addressing the LNG Producer-Consumer Conference, currently in session in Japan, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry underlined that the competitive strength of Qatar as the largest producer of LNG in the world was not only achieved by the size of its reserves and the level of its projects and business, but also by the State’s faith in long-term partnership and its attention to quality and the accuracy of operation.
HE Al Sada stressed the importance of constructive dialogue between the LNG producing and consuming countries in order to strengthen the stability of the LNG markets and create a favorable environment for investment which allows the development of gas resources.
On the sidelines of the conference, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammad bin Saleh Al Sada met with each of Australian Minister of Resources and Energy Martin Ferguson and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yukio Edano and discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing mutual cooperation in the energy field.
HE the Minister of Energy and Industry arrived in Tokyo last night where he was welcomed upon arrival by HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Japan Yousuf Mohammad Belal and several Japanese officials.  (QNA)
