Palestine Stock Exchange organizes a training program at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie

Nablus – Ma’an – The Palestine Stock Exchange held a three-day training meeting that included more than 100 male and female students from the Faculty of Business and Economics at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie/Tulkarm, with the aim of introducing the securities sector, investment mechanisms and the basics of saving.

At the beginning of his speech, the Director General of the Palestine Stock Exchange, Mr. Nihad Kamal, welcomed the participating students and those responsible for the success of this meeting, stressing the need to continue and develop means of cooperation in the field of investment awareness for students, and that these meetings represent a step towards enhancing students’ understanding of the Palestinian securities sector, adding that ‘financial markets’ are not just trading platforms, but rather main drivers of economic growth and their keys come through research and practice.

In turn, the former Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Dr. Mohammad Suwais, thanked the Stock
Exchange team and the teaching staff responsible for organizing this meeting, pointing out that Palestine Technical University is constantly seeking to integrate theoretical education with the practical aspect, and that the university, despite the difficult circumstances that the country is going through, specifically the city of Tulkarm, insists on fulfilling its mission in the best possible way, which will only be achieved through joint cooperation with all institutions keen on developing education and promoting an aware generation with a high level of scientific and practical culture.

In addition, the meeting included several main topics presented by the executive management of the Palestine Stock Exchange, including a review of the history, establishment and development of the exchange, as well as the importance of governance and combating corruption in the financial market. Then, the discussion was about the Depository and Transfer Center and its role in serving investors and the market, and the most im
portant foundations of trading, listing and disclosure in the exchange.

The meeting witnessed clear interaction and various interventions on the topics raised, indicating their importance to students. The meeting came out with recommendations to continue this type of cooperation, whether at the school benches or in later stages, while the Stock Exchange confirmed that its doors are open to all researchers and students alike to advance the cognitive reality about investing in securities in Palestine.
