Qatari marksman Rashid Al Athba concluded his participation in the skeet shooting qualifiers at the Paris 2024 Olympics, held at the Chateauroux Shooting Center on Saturday.
Al Athba scored 24 out of 25 plates in the 1st round, 46 out of 50 targets in the 2nd round, 69 out of 75 targets in the 3rd round, and 93 out of 100 targets in the 4th round.
None of the Arab shooters qualified for the final stage of the skeet shooting qualifiers, as Kuwaiti shooter Mohammed Al Deihani scored 95 out of 100 targets, Palestinian shooter George Al Salhi scored 80 out of 100 targets, Egyptian shooter Azmy Mehelba scored 96 out of 100 targets, and his compatriot Ibrahim Omar scored 84 out of 100 targets.
Earlier today, US shooter Vincent Hancock won the gold medal in skeet shooting for the fourth time in his career, outperforming his fellow American Conner Lynn Prince who took the silver medal, while the bronze medal went to Taiwanese sharpshooter Lee Meng-yuan.
