Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), in cooperation with the Global Carbon Council (GCC), and in coordination with the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), organized a workshop on the carbon market and carbon unit programs for the implementation of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme (CORSIA) plan.
The workshop was held via videoconference with the participation of more than 71 experts from representatives of aviation authorities, airports and ground handling companies from several Arab countries participated in the workshop.
This workshop represented a significant occasion and opportunity for the participants to discover the projects and initiatives implemented by the State of Qatar in the field of environmental protection, especially the experience of the Global Carbon Council accredited by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), related to the carbon market and carbon unit programs for the implementation of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).
The workshop also falls within the framework of the implementation of action programs of the Environment Committee of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, and the study of all conditions related to offsetting carbon emissions (Offsetting Requirements), in accordance with the implementation mechanisms of the CORSIA plan.
