A Royal Navy frigate conducting maritime patrol in the Atlantic intercepted a small boat on Thursday, 186 km southwest of Dakhla.
The boat was headed towards the Canary Islands and had 91 Sub-Saharan individuals on board, including 8 women and 1 baby, who were seeking irregular migration, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
The rescued individuals received necessary care on board before being transported to the port of Dakhla. They were then handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for standard administrative procedures, as outlined by the same source.
