Syria claims nine medals at 4th West Asia Para Games, Sharjah


Sharjah, The Syrian sports athletes participating in the West Asian Paralympic Games currently being held in Sharjah won nine various medals (four gold, two silver, and three bronze).

In the athletics competition, Alaa Abdel Salam won the gold in the shot put and javelin throw, while Bassam Sousak cliamed a gold in the javelin throw, a silver in the discus throw, along with a bronze in the shot put.

Wassim Khadour got a gold medal in the javelin throw, and Khalil Muhammad obtained a bronze one in the shot put and discus throw.

In addition, in the badminton competition, Firas Shiha won a silver medal.

Today,Thursday, our players are scheduled to compete in table tennis and physical strength races.

12 Countries participating in the tournament organized by the West Asia Para Federation (WAPF): the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Yemen, in addition to Syria.
