The occupation destroys more than 70% of the infrastructure in Rafah

Gaza – Ma’an – The mayor of Rafah, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sufi, said that the occupation forces continue their acts of sabotage and destruction in the governorate for the third consecutive month, and are preventing the entry of humanitarian aid through the Rafah crossing, turning Rafah into a disaster-stricken city.

Al-Sufi added that the occupation forces destroyed more than 70% of the governorate’s infrastructure, including roads, water and sewage networks, tanks, water wells, the central market, and municipal facilities.

He stressed: The occupation forces adopted a scorched earth policy, destroying the Al-Shawka area, as well as the Al-Salam neighborhood, and the camps of Yebna and Western Rafah by more than 80%.

Large areas of the neighborhoods of Tel Al-Sultan, Al-Saudi, and the Western Camp were also destroyed, and more than 60% of the Al-Shaboura Camp was destroyed.

He pointed out that these are preliminary estimates and will be re-examined after the occupation withdraws from the city’s neighborhoods.

id: The Rafah Municipality Administration is working to communicate with Arab and international donor agencies to quickly begin rebuilding the infrastructure and destroyed homes after the end of the aggression.
