ALGERIAN PRESIDENT SENDS MESSAGE TO SYRIAN COUNTERPART ON 71ST ANNIVERSARY OF SYRIA’S INDEPENDENCE

ALGIERS, April 18 (NNN-APS) — Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has sent a congratulatory message to his Syrian counterpart, President Bachar Al-Assad, on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Syria’s independence, in which he welcomed the level of the state of bilateral relations while expressing the hope that the Syrian dialogue reaches a settlement to the crisis affecting the country.

I would like, on the occasion of the celebration by Syria of the 71st anniversary of its independence, to extend, on behalf of the Algerian people and government and on my own name, my warm congratulations and best wishes, praying God Almighty to grant you health and happiness and to achieve the aspirations of your dear people for reconstruction as part of the national concord and understanding, wrote President Bouteflika in his message Monday.

I seize this opportunity to express our satisfaction with the level of the relations between our two brotherly countries and to say that we follow with interest the developments of the crisis affecting your dear country.

President Bouteflika expressed the hope that the Syrian dialogue reaches a resolution to the crisis and restoration of peace and stability aspired by the brotherly Syrian people. — NNN-APS
