2023 AFCON Preparation: Morocco Beat Sierra Leone (3-1)SPORTS MINISTER ATTENDS AFC ASIAN CUP OPENING IN DOHA, LEADS LEBANESE DELEGATION

Moroccan national football team beat its Sierra Leonean counterpart 3-1 in a match to prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations (2023 AFCON), played on Thursday in San Pedro, Côte d’Ivoire.

The Atlas Lions’ goals were scored by Youssef En-Nesyri (30th, 55th), and Sofiane Boufal (35th).

This match is part of the national team’s preparations for the 2023 AFCON, scheduled from January 13 to February 11 in Côte d’Ivoire.

The national team, which kicks off its CAN campaign against Tanzania on January 17, is drawn in Group F, which also includes DR Congo and Zambia.

Caretaker Minister of Youth and Sports, George Kallas, is set to embark on an official visit to the Qatari capital, Doha, to attend the opening ceremony of the AFC Asian Cup for football and the match between the Lebanese and Qatari national teams scheduled for Friday afternoon. Minister Kallas will also participate in “Expo Doha” and meet with members of the Lebanese community, welcoming the visiting Lebanese national team at Lebanon’s dedicated pavilion.

The official Lebanese delegation includes the Director-General of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, Mohammad Abu Haidar, and the Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Louis Lahoud.
