A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck the southern coast of the Philippines.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the tremors were recorded 180 km northwest of Sarangani village, where 7.5 thousand people live. The source of the earthquake lies at a depth of 70.5 km.

Data on possible losses and destruction were not reported, and no Tsunami alert was issued.

The Philippines is exposed to earthquake due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
