AFC Champions League: Al Duhail Coach Disappointed After Losing to Saudi Al Nassr

Doha, November 07 – Al Duhail coach Christophe Galtier expressed great disappointment as his team lost hope in competing in the AFC Champions League, after losing to the Saudi Al Nassr 3-2, in the match that was played at Khalifa Stadium in Matchday 4 of Group E.

With this win, Al Nassr topped Group E with 12 points, securing a seat to the Round of 16, while Irani Persepolis F.C. comes second with 7 points. Persepolis earlier held a 1-1 draw with the Tajiki FC Istiklol, who are third with 3 points, while Al Duhail comes fourth with only 1 point.

In the press conference following the match, Galtier admitted that Al Duhail players have faced a very difficult opponent, and while they were able to open the scoring early, but the poor organization in the midfield gave Al Nassr the chance to get the ball possession and score the equalizer, and then score again from the penalty spot before the end of the first half.

He added that despite suffering from some absentees in the team, the players showed good response in the second half and managed to score the equalizer 10 minutes before the end of the match, but they were unlucky to score more, and rather give the Al Nassr players the space to possess the ball and create more opportunities.

The French coach concluded that he will do his best to get the team developed in the coming stage, and try to focus on correcting some mistakes and addressing some technical issues.
