Algerian Minister of Energy and Mining Mohamed Arkab discussed with his Azerbaijani counterpart Parviz Shahbazov, opportunities to develop cooperation relations between the two countries in the field of energy.
The two ministers reviewed, via video conferencing technology, investment opportunities in the hydrocarbons sector and the exchange of experiences, between the Algerian State Energy Company “Sonatrach” and the Azerbaijani State Oil Company “SOCAR”.
The two sides also agreed to intensify exchanges between the companies of the two countries in the field of developing the natural gas industry and renewable energies.
Sonatrach announced two weeks ago that Algeria’s revenues from oil and gas in the first five months of 2023 amounted to $21 billion, an increase of 2 percent over the same period last year.
