ALGERIAN ENERGY MINISTER HOLDS TLKAS IN RABAT WITH MOROCCAN COUNTERPART

ALGIERS, Algerian Energy Minister Mustapha Guitouni, who is in Marrakesh to attend the 11th Arab Energy Congress, held discussions there Monday with his Moroccan counterpart, Aziz Rabbah, on matters related to energy co-operation between the two countries, the Energy Ministry said in a statement here Tuesday.

During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the Congress, the two ministers broached bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, notably in the field of energy as well as ways to strengthen them, added the statement.

The two ministers said they are very optimistic about the prospect for further strengthening the partnerships between the two countries, notably concerning supplying Morocco with Algerian natural gas.

The two sides welcomed the quality of co-operation, while underlining the excellent Algerian-Moroccan relations in the field of energy co-operation.

They also stressed the need to develop energy infrastructures, notably for electricity transmission inter-connections, and to extend energy co-operation at the regional level.
