ALGERIAN HEALTH MINISTER TO ATTEND WORLD HEALTH ASSEMBLY IN GENEVA

ALGIERS, Algeria’s Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Mokhtar Hasbellaoui, will be in Geneva next week to lead the Algerian delegation participating in the 71st Session of the World Health Assembly, scheduled for May 21 to 26.

Before the official opening of the World Health Assembly, Hasbellaoui will chair a meeting here Saturday of members of the Algerian delegation to the meeting of the assembly’s working group of the specialized technical committee on health, population and the fight against drugs to examine the draft treaty for the creation of an African Drug Agency, the Ministry of Health said in a statement here Thursday.

The agency, set to be established under a treaty signed by the African heads of State and government, aims mainly to improve the access to high-quality medical products on the continent, ensuring the harmonization of regulations of African Union member countries and ensuring the integration and mutualization of resources available in Africa.
