Apple to Add AI to Notifications

General

Apple plans to add the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) in all aspects of the upcoming iOS 18 iPhone system, including the notifications.

As part of the changes, the company will improve Siri’s voice capabilities, giving it a more conversational feel, and add features that help users with their day-to-day lives an approach it calls “proactive intelligence.” That includes services like auto-summarizing notifications from your iPhone, giving a quick synopsis of news articles and transcribing voice memos, as well as improving existing features that auto-populate your calendar and suggest apps.

Many applications deliberately send notifications to users; In order to urge them to interact with them continuously, but that makes the notification section full of a large number of them regardless of how important they are to the user.

Some users consider that the iOS notification management system may need further development, and AI may play a role in improving notification management to provide greater ben
efit to users and reduce their dispersion.

Apple is seeking to make the AI benefits it intends to offer users with iOS 18 processing-based in devices, but there will be other processing-based benefits in the company’s cloud servers.

Apple may abandon the development of a smart chat app similar to other apps such as ChatGPT and Gemini in its next system, which may also mean that the company has not reached an appropriate agreement with rival companies to integrate its applications into the system.
