Arab Workshop on Effects of Artificial Intelligence on Children Begins in Egypt

The Arab workshop entitled ‘The effects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its uses on the Arab child’ kicked off Monday in Cairo, organized by the Arab Council for Childhood and Development, over two days, in partnership with the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND), with the participation of 30 Arab experts.

The workshop aims to discuss the effects of AI on the life of the Arab child, especially in light of crises, wars and global developments, in addition to raising awareness of the importance of working to empower the Arab child in the era of industrial revolutions, including opportunities and risks.

Dr. Hassan Al-Bilawi, Secretary-General of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development, stressed in his opening speech at the workshop that digital progress indicates that the world is drowning in a huge amount of data and information, but at the same time it is thirsty for knowledge and wisdom in using that knowledge, stressing the need for scientific research centers to work to ensure that huma
n advancement is within a framework of enlightenment, humanity and social justice.

Al-Bilawi highlighted the role of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development in spreading knowledge in order to build a new, enlightened conceptual mental structure for the Arab person, under the slogan “A new mind in new Arab societies seeking progress in a world full of rapid changes based on knowledge and technology.”
