Bahrain participates in World Asthma Day

Bahrain participates in the World Asthma Day, which falls on May 6.

The Ministry of Health affirmed its keenness to organize many educational and awareness events and activities to increase awareness of the disease and ways to prevent it through the optimal use of treatment, improve the quality of life for asthma patients, encourage healthy lifestyles to reduce asthma attacks and its complications.

Asthma is a chronic, non-contagious, non-bacterial chest disease that affects the lungs and the bronchi, which causes the airways to be narrow and highly sensitive to certain factors in the air.

It can make breathing difficult and trigger coughing, a whistling sound (wheezing) when you breathe out and shortness of breath, and chest pain
