Bahraini Ambassador to Italy gives lecture on Italian-Gulf relations

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Italian Republic, Dr. Nasser Mohammed Al Balooshi, delivered a lecture entitled “Italy and the Gulf Cooperation Council with a Focus on Bahrain”, at the invitation of the Secretary-General of the Nuovo Millennio Foundation, Professor Marcello Presici. It was part of the programme of the second session of the political school “Vivere nella Communità”, located in the capital, Rome.

Dr. Al Balooshi stressed keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC countries to strengthen the political and economic partnership with the Italian Republic and the European Union countries, in a way that serves the common interests of peoples in consolidating tolerance and coexistence between cultures and civilizations, enhancing security and peace, and supporting sustainable development goals on regional and global levels.

The ambassador expressed the kingdom’s pride, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the close relations of cooperation and friendship with the Italian Republic in various fields, which gained a positive impetus with the establishment of the King Hamad Chair in Inter-Faith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence at Sapienza University, and the inauguration of the Bahraini embassy in Rome two years ago by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

At the end of the lecture, the students who attended expressed their happiness to learn about aspects of the development and civilizational achievements witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC countries, Bahrain’s diplomatic stances and its interests in strengthening political, economic and scientific cooperation with the Italian Republic.
