Judicial police in the city of Beni Mellal arrested on Friday, in close coordination with the services of the General Direction of surveillance of the national territory, a Swiss national aged 62 years old being the subject of an international arrest warrant for a case of sexual exploitation of minors, according to a security source.
According to preliminary investigations, on June 15, the Swiss judicial authorities issued an arrest warrant for a Swiss national for his alleged involvement in the sexual exploitation of minors and the production and publication of pornographic content. This necessitated in-depth investigations, which led to the location of the individual in question and his arrest in Beni Mellal.
The Swiss national was taken into custody with a view to his extradition, according to the same source, noting that the computer equipment found in his possession had been examined for evidence of the criminal acts of which he was accused.
The arrest of the suspect is part of ongoing efforts by Moroccan security services to strengthen international cooperation in security matters, as well as the pursuit and arrest of persons wanted internationally for transnational crime.
