Caretaker Minister of Industry, MP George Bushkian, announced Saturday that ‘the ministerial-parliamentary meetings held in cooperation with representatives of diplomatic bodies and civil society, devoted to discussing a specific agenda for regional and social development and supporting industrial and agricultural production, are necessary and require follow-up on their recommendations within Parliament and the Council of Ministers until they are achieved.”

He praised the initiative of MP Farid al-Bustani and his invitation to a retreat in Deir Al-Qamar within this framework, considering that ‘he is keen on pushing the economy forward and moving the productive wheel in light of his chairmanship of the Parliamentary Economy and Industry Committee and his status as a successful and enterprising businessman and investor who realizes the importance of setting a road map in this direction.’

Bushkian said that he sensed from the meeting participants their pride in the growing industrial sector, which is gradually
expanding in quantity, production, quality, local consumption, and export abroad.

He explained the goals he set with the work team in order to fortify and protect the country’s legal industry and eliminate those unlicensed and violators.
