Abu Dhabi, Syria’s men football team drew with Kyrgyzstan 1-1 in a friendly match that brought them together on Friday in the UAE.

Kyrgyzstan scored first in the 48th minute of the match while the Syrian team tied in the 71st minute of the game through player Ibrahim Hisar.

The match comes in preparation to the Asian cup tournament due later in Qatar.

The Syrian team will begin its participation in the Asian finals on January 13th against Uzbekistan.

Lebanese Forces Party Chief, Samir Geagea, received in Maarab this morning the Secretary-General of the Catholic Schools in Lebanon, Father Youssef Nasr, accompanied by a delegation, in the presence of ‘Strong Republic’ bloc members, MPs Melhem Riachi and Antoine Habshi.

Discussions during the meeting focused on the loopholes of the project law on amending some provisions of the Educational Authority Law in Private Schools, which was approved in the legislative session on December 15, 2023. The delegation highlighted the problems resulting from this law in terms of financial and other burdens and presented the proposed solutions.

Hasaka, US occupation forces looted 56 oil tankers from Syrian al-Jazeera region over the past hours.

Local sources in al-Yaroubia, near the Iraqi border, told SANA reporter that a convoy for the US occupation made up of 56 tanker trucks loaded with Syrian oil left for Iraqi territory through the illegal Mahmoudiya crossing.

In the same context, the US occupation forces brought out a convoy of 34 covered trucks, containers and large tankers, from their bases in Syria to their bases in northern Iraq via al-Walid illegal crossing.

Russia Today” reported, citing a Jordanian military source, that armed clashes took place between border guard forces and armed groups of smugglers on the northern border, resulting in the injury and arrest of a number of smugglers and the thwarting of drug and weapons smuggling.

The source confirmed that, “Since 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, armed clashes have been taking place between Jordanian border guard forces and large armed groups of smugglers, and the armed groups are now being expelled into Syria.”

The source stated that these clashes “are continuing until the moment, and that the armed forces are following the movements of these groups and their attempts to destabilize national security, and will do everything necessary to deter and pursue them wherever they are.”

Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad issued Legislative Decree No.3 for 2024, which stipulates the establishment of the General Company for the Manufacture and Marketing of Cement and Building Materials (Omran).

The new company replaces the General Organization of cement and building material and its subsidiaries.

The new company enjoys legal personality and financial and administrative independence.

This step seeks to guarantee greater flexibility in work to achieve greater capacity of the State in the cement sector.

The Islamic Resistance issued a communique on Saturday, indicating that at 8:10 a.m. today, as part of the initial response to the crime of assassinating Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri and his brethrens who fell as martyrs in the southern suburb of Beirut, the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted the “Meron Air Traffic Control Base” with 62 missiles of various types, causing direct and confirmed casualties.

The communique explained that the “Meron Air Traffic Control Base” is located at the top of Mount Jarmaq in the north of occupied Palestine, which is the highest mountain peak in occupied Palestine, adding that this base is considered the only center for management, surveillance and air control in the north of the usurping entity with no alternative.
