CGB Organizes Training Programme on Innovations in Governance

Doha: The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB) held a training programme, under the title of innovations in governance, within the training programme for the Asia-Middle East Dialogue (AMED), as part of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Singapore.

It is the first program being implemented within the shared MoU, in collaboration with Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP) and the CGB’s Institute of Public Administration, CGB reported in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement highlighted that the four-day training programme is held at the premises of CGB’s Institute of Public Administration which has been chosen by the State of Qatar as a venue for the regional training center for public administration in the Middle East.

The training program primarily targets government officials from AMED countries who engage in leading and monitoring the public sector’s reforms. The program brings together representatives of the State of
Qatar, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Jordan, India, Pakistan and the Philippines, the statement continued.

The themes of the programme intend to familiarize the participants with the approach the Republic of Singapore pursues in governance, public service transformation, building digital economy and inclusive digital society, as well as reviewing the challenges and innovations in crafting social and economic policies and using technology and data in optimizing the provision of public services.

Additionally, the programme shines a spotlight on the Republic of Singapore’s experience in diverse innovations related to the public policy and service provision, in addition to the abilities the public services need. The programme features lectures, panel discussions, case studies, pilot activities and some digital learning methodologies.
