Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for serious work to find a just, lasting, and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.

This came during the Chinese minister’s phone call with his Palestinian counterpart Riyad Al Malki.

During the call, Wang Yi reaffirmed his country’s position that peace will not be achieved in the Middle East without a solution to the Palestinian issue, implementing the principle of the two-state solution, and embodying the State of Palestine, calling for an international peace conference as soon as possible, and formulate a specific timetable and roadmap, indicating that the situation cannot continue as it is, and the international community must bear its responsibilities in the face of this catastrophe, calling on the international community to take urgent actions and play a constructive role in de-escalating the crisis.

Wang affirmed the stability of the Chinese position towards the Palestinian issue, which will not change, stressing his countrys stand with Palestine and its firm support for the Palestinian issue, and Chinas readiness to cooperate in achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, bringing in emergency humanitarian aid, protecting the lives of civilians, and preventing displacement.

He also condemned the Israeli attacks on hospitals and schools, which target civilians and violate international law, warning at the same time against attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause. Since Oct. 7, the Israeli occupation has continued its widespread aggression against the Gaza Strip, targeting residential neighborhoods, markets, and citizen gatherings throughout the Strip, in addition to bombing hospitals, mosques, and churches, leaving thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, while hundreds are still under the rubble of bombed homes.
