Conclusion of the workshop for exploring creators in the visual arts 2024 in Hebron

Hebron – Together – The distinguished artistic workshop ‘Exploring Creators in the Visual Arts 2024’ was concluded in Hebron, which was organized by the Fine Arts Forum Association (Hanin), in partnership with the Ministry of Culture – the Palestinian Cultural Fund – and with the support of the Norwegian government. It was opened by the Minister of Culture, Engineer Imad Hamdan, in Haifa Hall of the Palestinian Child Arts Center.

An elite group of distinguished artists and an elite group of creative male and female artists from Palestinian universities in Hebron participated in the workshop. Among the trainers were an elite group of distinguished workers in the visual and plastic arts, led by the great Palestinian artist Suleiman Mansour, the artist Talib Al-Dweik, the artist Dr. Nasr Jawabreh, the artist Youssef Katlo, and the artist Lama. Al-Dweik, the artist Abeer Al-Wahwah, the artist Alaa Abu Heikal, in addition to the artists of the Fine Arts Forum Association (Hanin). The workshop lasted for 6 weeks,
during which participants received 30 hours of training on various topics in the field of plastic and visual arts.

A new experience.

Artist Abdul Hamid Al-Sous, head of the Fine Arts Forum Association (Hanin), says: ‘The workshop came to shed light on a group of young talents in the field of fine and visual arts and give them a new experience through meeting with artists and learning about their experiences and methods.’

the artist Amani Al-Fakhouri, Secretary of the Fine Art Forum Association, says: ‘I extend my thanks to all the creative student artists who participated in the workshop, and my thanks to all the wonderful trainers who provided all their information and experience to the creative youth and to the partner institutions in implementing the workshop, and I especially thank the Fund.’ The Palestinian Cultural Center and the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, as well as to the family of the Palestinian Children’s Arts Center.’

he Palestinian artist Samih Abu Zakia, Director of the Palestinian Children’s Arts Center, said: ‘I extend my thanks and appreciation to the Director General of the Cultural Fund, Mr. Youssef Al-Tarturi, the family of the Palestinian Cultural Fund, the Ministry of Culture, the family of the Fine Arts Forum (Hanin) and the family of the Children’s Arts Center.’ The Palestinian Authority and the participants for their efforts in making the activities of this workshop a success, which emphasizes the importance of nurturing talented and creative people in the visual arts in order to advance the plastic movement in Palestine.’

Artist Ansam Abdel-Ghani Hamdan from the town of Kharas in the Hebron Governorate. She is a student at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie – Al-Arroub Branch, majoring in design and applied arts. She said, ‘I met in the Creators Exploration of Visual Arts 2024 workshop with the Fine Arts Forum Association, with trainers.’ And artists and colleagues, led by th
e distinguished artist Suleiman Mansour, the artist Talib Dweik, the artist Alaa Abu Heikal, the artist Youssef Katlo, the artist Nasr Jawabra, the artist Abeer Al-Wahwah, and the artist Lama Al-Dweik. I thank them for the amount of information gained from them in various fields, and the result of this workshop will be the opening of an exhibition. From our production, and I thank the administrative body and coordinator Razan Al-Jaabari, Mr. Abdul Hamid Al-Sous, Ms. Amani Al-Fakhouri, Ms. Safaa Al-Haymouni, Ms. Heba Shanan, and to everyone who contributed to this wonderful workshop.’

Artist Olfat Jabour, a student at Palestine Polytechnic University, said: ‘I had the honor of participating in the workshop, and it is a rich and unique experience. Through it, I gained many invaluable experiences and skills. The trainers were wonderful in every sense of the word; they have expertise.’ They have extensive and deep knowledge in the field of visual arts. They were always willing to help and guide us, which helped
me improve my artistic skills greatly.’

As the artist Shahad Al-Hayeh, a student at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie, Al-Arroub Branch, said: ‘It was an opportunity for me to reveal my talent and develop it to be an artist of the future, and this is what I dream of. Through my participation, I got to know artists that I dreamed of meeting, and I received from them the artistic experience they have, such as The great artist Suleiman Mansour, the great artist Talib Dweik, the artist Alaa Abu Heikal, and other Palestinian male and female artists. In conclusion, I would like to say to the Hanin Association, the Cultural Fund, and everyone who had a hand in this workshop, thank you for all the cultural and artistic support you provided. It is moral for us and for your good treatment with us.’

For her part, artist Israa Muhammad Dababsa, from the town of Nuba in the Hebron Governorate, who is a student at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie – Al-Arroub Branch, specializing in design and applied arts,
said: ‘The meetings with the trainers and artists were a pioneering experience for me, and I took from their experiences in art and applied their observations, and we enjoyed.’ “I also spend time with my colleagues during the workshop.”

Artist Aseel Al-Bayed from Al-Fawwar camp, a student at the Polytechnic University with a diploma in graphic design, said: ‘This workshop was actually called ‘Exploration.’ I, as an artist personally, discovered my creativity, and this workshop was one of the greatest opportunities that I had in my career as a rising artist. I gained wonderful experiences from… Wonderful artists, icons of Palestinian art, and professors at the largest universities, led by the great artist Suleiman Mansour, whose meeting has always been a dream and sincerity. The workshop was complete from the first meeting until the last meeting with its atmosphere, information, and practical applications. Of course, the greatest credit goes to the team organizing this workshop, and I extend my thanks to th
e Fine Art Forum Association. (Hanin) and the Palestinian Ministry of Culture for this more than wonderful opportunity, and we hope to hold complementary workshops.’

Artist Baraa Abu Fara from the town of Surif, a student majoring in design and visual arts at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie, Al-Arroub Branch, said: ‘I participated in the workshop and during 6 meetings I gained skills and experience from the artists and enjoyed the artistic works.’

For his part, Mr. Iyad Tamizi said that the outcome of the workshop was wonderful and distinguished, and an exhibition of the works of the participants and participants in the workshop will be opened during the coming period.
