CULTURE MINISTER CENSURES ISRAELI KNESSET’S REJECTION OF PALESTINIAN STATE

General

Caretaker Minister of Culture, Judge Mohammad Wissam Al-Mortada, on Friday took to his “X” platform account to comment on the recent Israeli Knesset decision rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state in the occupied territories.

“The Israeli Knesset has refused the establishment of a Palestinian state, thereby rejecting the so-called ‘two-state solution.’ This effectively means the continuation of the occupation in all its brutal forms-killing, destruction, displacement, and settlement expansion. What, then, is left for us Lebanese and Arabs to do?”

“Should we persist in our political rhetoric, reiterating what the enemies of humanity have implicitly rejected in the past and explicitly now? Or should we strive to strengthen our unity and subsequently utilize our military, diplomatic, and economic capabilities to impose what we have long called for-the ‘solution of the two returns’? This solution is the only way for the salvation of our region and its peoples: the return of Palestinians to their usu
rped homeland and the return of the occupying settlers to the countries whose citizenships they hold.”

Al-Mortada concluded with a poignant question, “Isn’t it time for us to wake up, reflect, and cooperate, or are our hearts locked?”
