Customs police deal with 27 cases in the past hours

Ramallah – Ma’an – The Customs Police Department dealt with 27 cases during the past hours.

The details of the cases that were seized were as follows:

_ 6 cases in cooperation with the competent authorities in the Ministries of National Economy and Health, were as follows:

_ In Hebron and Tulkarm, a quarter ton of expired food supplies unfit for consumption were seized and destroyed.

_ In Nablus, 38 packages of creams and slimming materials were seized that were not licensed by the competent authority, and they were kept pending completion of legal procedures.

_ One case, in cooperation with the competent authorities in the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, was as follows:

_ In Bethlehem, 43 postal parcels were seized that did not have licenses from the competent authority, and they were kept pending completion of legal procedures.

_ One case, in cooperation with the competent authorities in the Ministry of Agriculture, was as follows:

_ In Ramallah, 1,000 laying hens were seized without
an agricultural transport permit and a veterinary certificate, and they were kept pending completion of legal procedures.

_ 19 cases in the field of customs smuggling and tax evasion. Non-compliant taxpayers were referred to the Ministry of Finance to pay their tax obligations and settle their situations.

The Authority intensifies its field and supervisory efforts on shops and markets with the relevant partner agencies; to ensure the availability of basic goods and the absence of any illegal materials in the markets, and to monitor commercial movement, the safety of goods and commodities, and the absence of monopoly.
