Educational Officials Praise Education Ministry’s New Strategy Goals, Programs

Doha: Several officials at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education have praised the goals and programs that the ministry’s new strategy 2024/2030 seeks to achieve, describing the strategy as comprehensive and integrated.

They said that it seeks to develop the education sector in the State of Qatar by providing high-quality education while ensuring equal opportunities and developing teachers’ skills on an ongoing basis, and enhancing the educational environment according to the latest educational practices.

Director of the Public Relations and Communication Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi said in a statement to Qatar News Agency that the ministry’s new strategy 2024/2030 is comprehensive and includes 5 main axes: pre-primary education, education in grades one to twelve, post-secondary education, continuing education, and educational system enablers.

Al Mohannadi noted that the goal of this strategy is to establish an educational environment th
at enhances values and skills to build an advanced society and a prosperous economy.

She explained that the Public Relations and Communication Department at the Ministry plays a prominent role in this strategy, as it leads a strategic program, the “Communication” program, through which it aims to improve communication mechanisms in the Ministry as an institution and external communication between it and the public.

She noted that everyone is a partner in the educational process and has the right to learn about the Ministry’s activities and achievements, and that their involvement supports the Ministry and these trends and achievements.

Al Mohannadi, who is the leader of the “Communication” program, one of the strategic programs in the field of educational system enablers in the strategy, explained that its goals include seeking to improve communication mechanisms and involving everyone and informing them of the Ministry’s activities and achievements.

For her part, Fatima Al Saadi, the national leader of t
he “My Special Path” program and Director of the Special Education and Inclusive Education Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, reviewed in a similar statement to QNA the services and goals provided by the strategy for students with disabilities.

She noted that in order to provide and guarantee high-quality education for them, a student support services center will be launched in cooperation between the Ministries of Education and Higher Education, Public Health, Social Development and Family.

She explained that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has launched an electronic service to activate the system of obtaining educational vouchers for Qatari students with disabilities, based on enhancing equal educational opportunities and helping students achieve their potential in a comprehensive educational environment.

These educational vouchers are divided into three levels according to the type and intensity of the required services, so that the total value of the voucher at
the first support level becomes QR 43 thousand, for the second support level QR 53 thousand, and QR 78 thousand for the third support level, she said.

She noted that work is currently underway to prepare and design training programs according to the highest international standards of efficiency for special education teachers.

Director of the Training and Development Center at the Ministry Iman Al Mohannadi, spoke in a statement about the main axes of the strategy, which includes education from kindergarten until after graduation and joining the labor market.

She said that the “Excellence and Empowerment” program, which she is responsible for, includes 13 projects to develop the skills of teachers and school leaders and provide them with training and quality opportunities.

It is noteworthy that on the sidelines of the launch event of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Strategy 2024/2030 under the slogan “Igniting the Spark of Learning”, which will last for two days, the Ministry is organizing a
series of discussion sessions with the participation of a number of partners and concerned parties, to shed light on the most prominent aspects of the new strategy, the projects and programs that the Ministry intends to implement within the framework of its operational plan, and the responsibilities undertaken by the concerned parties to support the objectives of the strategy and contribute to achieving it.
