European Stocks Fall as Investors Await More Economic Data

European stocks declined on Wednesday, as investors await more economic data from the euro zone.

The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 1 percent, with all other major European markets down about 1 percent.

Barratt shares fell 1.4 percent after the British home building companies said demand for homes remained sensitive to borrowers’ ability to afford mortgages, after its annual profit fell 56 percent.

Investors await the release of euro zone services PMI data and producer price data for July for any indications on the health of the region’s economy and interest rate outlook.

Services PMI data from Germany, Spain, Italy and France are also due later in the day.
