FAO: One million people in Gaza will face starvation to death by July

Jerusalem – Together – The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations – FAO expects that more than one million people in the Gaza Strip will face famine and death by mid-July.

According to the organization’s official website, on Wednesday, the United Nations issued its early warning report for the period between June and October 2024 regarding the places where the hunger crisis is taking place, and where acute food insecurity is expected to worsen.

The report confirmed that acute food insecurity will worsen further in 18 places experiencing hunger crises, noting that the most dangerous of these places are Gaza and Sudan.

He said, “The situation in Mali, Palestine, South Sudan and Sudan continues to raise concerns at the highest level.”

Data reported by the report showed that 100 percent of the Gaza Strip’s population of 2.2 million people are in the third level or above, which is known as ‘crisis’ in the United Nations Integrated Interim Classification of Food Security, expecting that the Is
