The Qatari stock exchange main index managed to break through the 10,000-point barrier this week, rising 96.11 points to close at 10,006.
Financial analyst Mubarak Al Tamimi told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the positive performance this week should still be met with caution from investors, given developments in financial markets globally in order to avoid any potential correction in the coming period.
He noted that the recent performance of the index was dictated by factors like profit-taking after companies paid out their dividends and the US Federal Reserve’s rate hikes. He added that the performance of stock in the coming period will be dictated by Q1 earnings results and the impact of the retreat in oil prices.
