French president Affirms His Confidence in China’s Ability to Convince Russia to End Russia-Ukraine Crisis

French president Emmanuel Macron affirmed to his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, today, his conviction in Beijing’s ability to persuade the Russian authorities to return to the negotiating table to end the Ukrainian crisis, stressing that the Russian military operation in Ukrainian territory has dealt a blow to international stability.

During his meeting with Xi Jinping in the second day of his visit, Macron said that he knows that he can count on China to convince Russia and bring everyone back to the negotiating table, considering the Russian operation on Ukraine as a blow to international stability.

For his part, the Chinese president considered that China and France have the ability and responsibility to transcend differences and restraints as the world undergoes profound historical changes, noting that the relations between the two countries maintained a positive and steady momentum.

He also commended relations with France in a world undergoing profound historical change, referring, on the other hand, to China’s efforts for stability in the Middle East.
